I'm almost done with this new project finally. I brought it in to the guys at work to rip it apart sine I'm at the point where it just looks horrible no matter what I do. I hate when I get to that point in a project.....but..... they said it looked great and gave me some pointers on just a couple small things that'd make the image and allow me to wrap it up! I'll have this image posted on my portfolio site most likely within the week "finished"

I been working and working but havent done anything on this blog in about a year so I might as well try to revive it! Here is my newer work I am starting. It's in Vray....yes I have been using it for almost 6 plus months agian! I have been scouring the internet for good free landscaping and have started to amass a nice little set. Not the greatest of the great but not too bad.
Just using a basic Vray Sun light system. Textures from CGTextures. Plants from every where. The main building was something I did in Revit a couple plus years ago. Might have a posting on it here even. I finally am finishing it and decided to use it in this scene!

Im bout there with this one. I had something come up this past week or so, so didnt have much time to do anything new to this. I posted it up for comments on my normal CGArch forum and waiting to get some feedback. Nothing really as of yet. Only nice things like my joints and what not. Im pretty happy with it. Its my first ever complete Vray render. I think I learned what not to do. My comp hated the trees and really should have used Proxies. Also need to figure out which exact elements I should use to get the nice composite. For this I did my normal use the complete render and then layer on top the elements and cut out pieces to manipulate colors, levels, and any other effects. I've done these so many ways and I personally like the control I get doing it this way. Some day Im sure I'll switch it up and go another way like I usually do.
Next, whenever I can get my mind straightened out I am going to redo and old render I did back in around 2006 with Mental Ray. It was one of my first and I see soooo many errors in it. I just figured at the time it was what it was but now I know how to make it right, only this time it'll be Vray! Also will try and add some more elements into this to make it a bit more homely.

Here is my next project. It's the office I work at. Maybe 2 hours of work right here if that. Blocked out the building and the surrounding landscaping I'll probably switch out some trees, especially for the closer ones to the camera. I've got a few thankfully from all the freebies 3D World and various sites give away. I just throw a standard light and area shadow just to give me an idea of what this will look like and to help find my camera angle. I like this angle, so I'm going to roll with this. I'l planning on grabbing some pics tomorrow or some time this week and to get going on this. Shouldn't take too long to make this render.

It took a lot longer to render then I thought it would take. About 12 hours total for all the passes to finish up this 1500x703 render. I brought it all into Photoshop and loaded up all my SPEC and Reflection layers. Added some glare, and a blue Hue to the room. Also made a few little edits in cleaning some parts of the render out as well. Im not 100% happy with this....but it looks mighty good! I feel like some thing is missing from this for some reason. Im going to step away from it and leave as is for now till I can figure out what it might be.
